Conciencia Ediciones, publishing house of the University of Holguin, will join the actions of the International Book Fair in its Holguin chapter, to be held between March 20 and 24.
As every year, the university publishing house organizes, prior to the literary festival, a postgraduate Professional Improvement Program, which this time will deal with “Publishing in electronic magazines: new challenges for the academic community” and will be held at the headquarters of the Higher Institute of Art on March 19.
This program is aimed at updating and perfecting skills and practical knowledge for a better professional performance related to the publication of scientific articles in impact journals.
The workshop is basically aimed at teachers and staff working in educational institutions, as well as professionals from different specialties of the knowledge sector, such as universities, science, technology and innovation entities and other organizations that require the preparation of articles and original works for publication in Conciencia Ediciones or other publishing houses or academic journals.
The literary label Conciencia Ediciones will celebrate, next August 8, a decade of promoting the research results of academics and university students, through the publication of printed and digital books, specialized electronic magazines and, more recently, through social networking platforms.
In addition, it fulfills a teaching function in the more than 50 specialties that, in the different study modalities, are offered at the University of Holguin.
On the occasion of this first decade, the publishing house launched its campaign “10 years of Conciencia viva”, which includes the publication of its catalog, with detailed information on its main titles, as well as a tribute to those who have worked in the institution since its foundation.
