A moment of remembrances and intertwined emotions is what Ediciones La Luz has favored in the shadow of the Vitier-Garcia Marruz House, located in La Habana Vieja (Old Havana), with the presentation of the booklets of poems ‘Una cantidad misteriosa’ and ‘Quiero escribir con el silencio’, by Cintio and Fina, respectively, as part of the program of the 32nd edition of the Havana International Book Fair.
With the welcoming words of essayist and editor Jose Adrian Vitier, director of the institution and grandson of these great figures of Cuban literature, a day of very marked poetic and evocative sign distinguished the tribute of the Holguin label to such high names, as well as an example of collaboration between two representative institutions of the island’s literary work.
With the intervention of poets and editors Erian Peña, Luis Yuseff, Lisette Prego and Eugenio Marrón, topics and remembrances about both authors were discussed: Fina’s poetics and her imprint in the Cuban and Latin American sphere, the fruitful cooperation between Ediciones La Luz and Casa Vitier-Garcia Marruz, the production of an audiobook with texts by Fina and Cintio read by Jose Adrian, and the bonds of friendship that, since their first visit to Holguin in the early seventies, linked both figures with the cultural life and poets of Holguin.
