The investment of more than 285 million pesos in projects linked to the electrification of works associated to food production is among the results achieved by the electric sector in Holguin after ending year 2023 with favorable indicators.
Julio César Reyes Reyes, general director of Empresa Eléctrica in the territory said that more than 500 houses were electrified, of which around 150 are located in communities that only enjoyed electric service for four hours a day, and 120 of them had access by means of elegal lines.
The execution of works related to the development of the tourist resorts of Ramón de Antilla and Pesquero, Caletones beach and Los Bajos camping site was also guaranteed, and progress was also made in the works of the Río Seco II wind farm, as well as in the access road and the expansion of the Port of Vita, he underlined.
The executive highlighted the work carried out by the customer service system with respect to the improvement and consolidation of the company’s Telegram channel, which has more than 45,800 subscribers, as well as the results in the reduction of total reported breakdowns that allowed keeping the management system of renewable energy sources up to date.
Likewise, it was possible to efficiently use banking programs such as Remote Banking, Virtual Bandec and Checón, facilitating efficiency in the management of finances, speeding up the processing time and the possibility of providing the population with more reliable information, he said.
Regarding the emergency generators, Reyes Reyes said that around 80 generators were taken over to provide electric service to communities not connected to the national grid, and investments were made in accessories which, in addition to the timely management of breakdowns, led to improving this service to the population.
