Holguin: New social works in salute of the Cuban Revolution

Several social works were inaugurated in Holguin as part of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, including the opening of an intermediate therapy room at Octavio de la Concepcion de la Pedraja Pediatric Hospital.

Marlina Pérez Ramírez, head of services of the facility, explained that with a budget of 20 million pesos, it is intended for the care of 16 children in serious condition, has four cubicles with individual bathrooms, a pantry that can be used by accompanying persons, a decontamination room and an area for medical personnel.

She emphasized that they have a full staff of workers to provide qualified and quality assistance to the sick children, in addition to having an adjoining classroom for their accreditation and preparation.

In addition to this work, there is the total reconstruction and commissioning of a disused motor car that will cover the route between Holguín and Omaja, a stretch that runs through the municipalities of Cacocum, Calixto García and reaches some of its most remote communities.

Lázaro Llanes Lemes, deputy director of the Cuban Railway Union (UFC), pointed out that in the repairs they received the collaboration of entities such as the Comprehensive Automotive Services Company (EISA), the Sugar Cane Combine Company (KTP) and the Business Unit Holguín Railway Base.

He indicated that with a capacity of 94 passengers and a fare of 65 Cuban pesos, the motor car will not only do social work by improving the mobility of people, but will also contribute to increasing the organization’s income, which is expensive in the current economic scenario.
