Encounter of Son music groups organized in Mayarí

Mayari speeds up the preparations for the XXXIII encuentro de Agrupaciones Soneras (Encounter of Son Music Groups), which will take place from December 14 to 16, this year.

The event will be dedicated to the Orchestra Maravilla de Florida, to the tenth anniversary of the Mateo-Rumba group and to the 15th anniversary of the building Empresa Constructora de Obras de Ingeniería número 16 (ECOI-16).

“We are speeding up the organization of this meeting, which has already become a tradition that unites the community around music and son music culture,” said Carlos Ge Lopez, head of the Programs, Communication and Research department in the cultural directorate of this Holguin municipality.

Two emblematic events, “Los Niños Cantan y Bailan al Son” and “El Artista con el Pueblo”, will once again be a fundamental part of the activities, and in the latter, Norberto Puentes, director of the Maravilla de Florida group, will be a guest.

As has become a tradition, Los Taínos de Mayarí orchestra, under the direction of Jorge Cabreja Rondón, founder of the Encuentro de Agrupaciones Soneras, will act as host, ensuring that tradition and musical quality are guaranteed.

With the participation of renowned groups and artists, the XXXIII Encuentro de Agrupaciones Soneras promises to be a feast for lovers of Cuban music and a tribute to the cultural diversity that characterizes this region.
