Cuban Radio continues to grow at the pace of its history and producers, adapting to new stages and audiences.
This was proved on the third day of the theoretical event of the National Festival of Cuban Radio, in which the presentation “Radio as cultural heritage of the nation”, which was the main topic of the debate on Wednesday afternoon, was presented.
Delegates and guests addressed issues related to the use of sound heritage and the treatment of tangible and intangible heritage, as well as its protection and conservation.

The framework was favorable for the premiere of an audiovisual material that portrays and gathers the essence, the genesis of the radio medium, the story told by those who conceived the radio in the nation.
The look of the participants caught the premiere of the documentary “Radio Cubana”, produced in 1992 by Guillermo Piñeyro, just on the 70th anniversary of this means of communication, and that treasures stories and anecdotes of founders, voices that furrowed the four cardinal points of our island.
Ilaín de la Fuente Ginart, deputy director of Editorial En Vivo, of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT), told Radio Angulo that for many people who are entering the world of radio this audiovisual is a study and reference material to focus and direct the look from the radio.
Fuente Ginart also stated that “it is to read what others did, what the great maestros did, it is an opportunity to cultivate the intellect and take advantage of this initiative that is reborn with the Radio Festival in Cuba”.
During this day a summary of the National Survey on Programming in the summer of 2023 was also presented and there was an exchange with the Jury on the trends of the Program Contest of the National Radio Festival.
The evening closed with a performance by singer and composer Roberto Kel Torres, who represented Cuba in the Voice of Latvia contest, where he won first place.
