With the slogan “10 Years of Conciencia Viva”, the catalog of the publishing house of the University of Holguin, Conciencia Ediciones, a fundamental tool for the diffusion and promotion of its publications, was presented at Alex Urquiola Provincial Library.
Yané Álvarez Rómulo, director of the publishing house, affirmed that this is a tribute to all the people who have worked since the foundation of the institution and whose names appear in its pages, to those people who have contributed so much during these years to the social and professional development of the university.
Julio Hidalgo, who was in charge of the edition, explained that for the campaign an image of a plant whose fruit is a light bulb was used, with a green tone, a color that identifies the University, but the main objective was that the reader could have an easy, simple and attractive reading.
The Conciencia Ediciones 2014-2023 Catalog contains the selection of available titles, as well as detailed information about each one of them, through it readers can learn about the topics addressed by the publishing house and get a little closer to the difficult task of publishing scientific articles and academic texts.
At the presentation, the director of Conciencia Ediciones gave the Provincial Library the most recent books of the publishing house, while Hiram Pérez Concepción, president of the branch of the Union of Historians of Cuba in Holguín, recognized the work of the publishing house in these 10 years and gave the most recent title of La Mezquita, publishing house of the historians of the province.
Founded on August 8, 2014, Conciencia Ediciones contributes to the promotion, distribution and dissemination of the research results of professors, academics and university students from the province, the country and also from other nations, and among the main services it provides stand out the publication of printed and digital books, specialized electronic magazines, as well as the promotion of scientific and editorial activity.
