Gibaravisión programs will be broadcast by the National Educativo Channel during the current summer season. The show for children “Algarabía” will be aired on Sundays at 10:00 a.m., and the program “Gibara: Un Pueblo de Película” will come out on Mondays at 4:00 p.m. The latter is made up of a series of projects that show the work of this community television station in its quest to represent the realities and idiosyncrasy of its people.
“Algarabía” is the children’s musical revue of the Gibaravisión channel starring art instructors from the José Martí Brigade and children from the community.
Yudiannis González, director of Gibaravisión, said: “We are proud that for two straight years our work is included on national programming. On this occasion, ‘Algarabía’ returns with new characters, stories and animations, without losing its main objective: to promote human values in children through theater and music.
On the other hand, “Gibara: Un Pueblo de Película” is a cultural program with a close relationship between the heritage, culture and history of Gibara, nicknamed Villa Blanca de los Cangrejos seen in movies.
Alberto Mora, scriptwriter of the program, explained: “The conception of the program arose from the city’s cinematographic vocation, which has been shown on the seventh art by renowned filmmakers such as Eduardo Manet with his film El Huésped and then Humberto Solás, who made it transcend with the films Miel para Oshun and Lucía, in addition to his legacy with the Gibara International Film Festival.
