
The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, thanked the expressions of solidarity of compatriots and friends who in various cities around the world staged activities to demand the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States, imposed for more than 60 years, and the exclusion of the Caribbean nation from the list of sponsors of terrorism.
Through his official profile on Twitter, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, highlighted that this Sunday, on the day for the island, voices of solidarity from all over the world joined the dignified resistance of the people of the greatest of the Antilles, and the growing international claim against the hostile policy of Washington.
Bruno Rodríguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in the same social network highlighted that in the day “Biden: Take Cuba #OffTheList” (Biden, take Cuba off the list), Cubans residing abroad and supportive friends showed their commitment to the Antillean nation and a better future without blockade.
“The gratitude of our people and the confidence that we will continue to defend our independence and sovereignty,” he added. As reported by the Cuban Foreign Ministry, this Sunday the international day against the blockade took place, in countries such as Bolivia, Bahamas and Australia.
Likewise, in the United States, solidarity organizations and Cuban residents met in front of the White House to demand that the President, Joseph Biden, end the coercive policy against Cuba and the exclusion from the illegal list of alleged sponsors of terrorism.
