Two expo-sales of natural products took place recently in the city of Holguin with the offer of about 20 items, as part of the activities conceived in salute to the Day of the Pharmaceutical Worker, celebrated every November 22.
These activities carried out on November 17 and 20, respectively, in two units belonging to the Provincial Company of Pharmacies and Opticians (FARMOX) were very well received by the population that came in search of the demanded anti-catarrhal syrups, infusions and tinctures.
According to Rafael Antonio Escobar Concepción, Communication and Marketing specialist at the Provincial Company of Pharmacies and Opticians (FARMOX), these activities are part of a schedule that we have drawn up in greeting to the Cuban Pharmacists’ Day, with the best public acceptance of these products made in our laboratories as well as others of national production.
Among the most demanded products were the ozonized sunflower oil soap of 100 grams, priced at 21.00 CUP; aloe and oregano syrups; tinctures of Caribbean pine, marigold, red mangrove and infusions of lemongrass (Cymbopogon citrates), eucalyptus, Jamaica flower, ginger and Japanese mint and nutritional supplements such as Vasoactol, among others.
Other products incorporated to FARMOX’s portfolio of products and services were also available at the expo, such as Prevenox, Policosanol tablets, popularly PPG of 5, 10 and 20 mg; sublingual drops such as AliviHo-asthma, AliviHo-immune and AliviHo-trauma and other hygiene products.
In times of shortage, deficit or low coverage of medicines of industrial origin, the production of natural products must be boosted. This is why it is so beneficial to bring Natural Traditional Medicine, in its different modalities, closer to our daily work.
Other activities included in the event include meetings with retired workers of the pharmacy sector and with graduates in Pharmaceutical Sciences; recognition of outstanding workers and drug dissemination actions in the media of the territory, with the objective of making the population aware that, in spite of the difficulties present in the sector, the priority is to provide a quality service.
