The epidemiological situation and other social interest topics were analyzed in recent videoconference of the Temporary Group of Government Work in the province of Holguín.

It was reported that no new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the territory for the last seven days, however, vaccination against this disease continues, as well as the anti-flu vaccination, especially in vulnerable groups, a proof of the importance given to such social insterest issues.

It was also learned that the province continues without dengue transmission and fever cases are decreasing, but entomological surveillance continues with emphasis on the municipalities with higher risk factors at this time such as Rafael Freyre, Báguanos, Holguín and Calixto García.

Health authorities asked the population for greater collaboration and social discipline in the control of arbovirosis and environmental risks to human health, especially in this summer period with high temperatures.

In this sense, the need to take extreme hygienic measures to avoid diseases due to water and food contamination was emphasized.

The Government’s Temporary Working Group evaluated other issues of interest to the community that affect the quality of life of the people of Holguin, such as the instability in the water distribution cycles, mainly due to repeated breaks in the hydraulic networks; the recovery of houses affected by recent meteorological events; the situation of communal services and the distribution of some foodstuffs that are marketed through MINCIN’s network of warehouses.
