In a day that united international solidarity with productive efforts. The municipal and provincial agricultural teams, the ICAP Delegation in Holguin, and the group of Americans from the organization Code Pink. They celebrated Farmers’ Day and the 65th anniversary of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP).
The meeting took place at the “Lidia Doce” urban farm. An emblematic center of urban agriculture in Holguin, where the American activists joined in volunteer work to directly contribute to food production. The effort was a tangible demonstration of Code Pink’s commitment to the Cuban people. Extending beyond political activism.

During the day, the provincial delegate for Agriculture, Yusmila Rodríguez Cruz, met with solidarity supporters. Providing them with detailed information about the agricultural programs underway in the northeastern region. She explained the impact of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba. As well as the measures adopted by the Cuban government to increase food production for social institutions and the population.
Also the presence of Code Pink at this celebration reaffirms the commitment of the pacifist and anti-war organization. Founded in 2002 by American women, to building bridges of friendship between the two nations through concrete actions. The delegation, which will remain in Holguin until May 21st, continues its agenda. Combining exchanges with various sectors of civil society with firsthand experience of Cuban life.
