Investments in Holguin to Protect the Environment

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment in Holguin province is promoting 36 investments. Aimed at reducing environmental problems, including the dumping of solid waste into the environment.

Through the recovery of areas damaged by mining, the acquisition of electric vehicles, and financing for the reuse of waste from the production process.

Also he explained the work being done in the Guardalavaca tourist area. Where the sustainable use of ecotourism resources is prioritized through their economic validation. He also indicated that actions are being carried out at the Lucía Íñiguez Landín Clinical Surgical Hospital. The Turquino Canning Factory, and the Tradisa Meat Company.

During the implementation of the provincial environmental strategy. Which concluded in 2025, Holguin achieved favorable results in reforestation, the shift in the energy matrix, and incentives for producers using agroecological methods, especially in the mountainous areas of the Turquino Plan.

Moreover the province has some 50 programs focused on themes prioritized by economic and governmental plans. Such as the shift in the energy matrix, food sovereignty, and the government program based on science and technological innovation.
