Two Holguin players remain on the softball pre-selection roster

Two players from Holguin are among the 20 still in contention to make the team for the Pan American Championship. Which will take place in Monteria, Colombia, from February 19th to 28th, 2026.

Moreover the representatives from our province are left-handed pitcher Rafael Guerra from Mayari and shortstop Luis Raúl Domínguez from Sagua de Tanamo. Who has been playing with the Cachorros in the current National Baseball Series.

Among the 20 softball players remaining on the pre-selection roster are Pinar del Rio catchers Reinier Vera and Marcos Pozo. Odlanier Milanés (Granma), Samuel Boris (Las Tunas). And Yurisander Ramos (Ciega de Avila), who also plays as a utility player.

Alongside Domínguez, the infielders are Yesander Rodríguez (Santiago de Cuba). Osvaldo Pérez (Villa Clara), César Boza (Granma), Reisel Brocat (Ciego de Avila), and Jonathan Leyva (Las Tunas).

Also the outfielders are Miguel Savigne and Óscar Goulet (both from Santiago de Cuba). Héctor Castillo (Las Tunas), Yasmani Álvarez (Havana), and Yuri Rodríguez (Ciego de Avila).

In addition to Guerra from Holguin, the pitchers Alain Román (Ciego de Avila), Diego Laborde (Santiago de Cuba), and Yosvani Cárdenas (Havana) remain on the Cuban softball pre-selection roster.

Futhermore these 20 athletes from the Cuban softball pre-selection roster will take a break and resume training in Ciego de Avila starting January 5th of next year.
