The art book “On the Slope of My Arms,” featuring texts by Electa Arenal Huerta and illustrations by Isabela Catalá, was presented at the Holguin Provincial Center for Visual Arts (CPAP). As part of the CODEMA 40th Anniversary Salon’s program of activities.
Manuel Arias Silveira, director of the Cuadernos Papiro Publishing House and in charge of the presentation. He explained that the art book articulates two fundamental dimensions of Electa Arenal’s work: her visual art and her poetic writing. Isabela Catalá’s editing and design allow both to engage in dialogue. Within an object that is simultaneously an archive, an interpretation, and a contemporary reinterpretation.
The Sculpture Salon will open its doors this Friday, December 19th, at 10:00 a.m. local time. In the Small Room of the Holguin Provincial Center for Visual Arts.
Also this important event commemorates the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Advisory Council for the Development of Monumental and Environmental Sculpture (CODEMA). An occasion that prompted celebrations throughout the country. The exhibition can be enjoyed in Holguin until January 2026.
