Holguin Celebrates CODEMA’s 40th Anniversary

The 40th anniversary of the Advisory Council for the Development of Monumental and Environmental Sculpture (CODEMA) provides a fitting occasion to celebrate a significant event for the visual arts in Cuba.

The central commemorative activity is a nationwide mega-exhibition of sculptures. Offering an opportunity for all Cuban artists. Whether they regularly or occasionally create three-dimensional works, to participate.

Moreover the “CODEMA 40th Anniversary” National Exhibition will open in the city of Holguin on December 6th at the Provincial Center for Visual Arts. A venue that expects to host numerous artists from the region.

Each artist may submit up to two original Works. Also which must be wall-mounted or freestanding. With themes and materials freely chosen by the artists.

Futhermore with this important exhibition, the Holguin Provincial Center for Visual Arts will close its 2025 activities. Marking another year as the home of the city’s diverse visual expressions. Distinguished by its exhibition, advocacy, and promotion of the work of both emerging and established Cuban artists.
