Medicuba Spain and Sodepaz continue their campaign to raise donations for Cuba. Focusing especially on the eastern areas of the island damaged by Hurricane Melissa.
Sodepaz informed Prensa Latina today that the two organizations have already prepared a container with galvanized roofing that was scheduled to arrive in Santiago de Cuba on November 6th.
In a summary of their initiatives, they noted that on November 1st they sent a container with 1.8 million syringes with needles. On November 14th, a container with beds and medical equipment was loaded in Cantabria, destined for Holguin.
Furthermore, on November 15th, another container with medical equipment will be prepared for Santiago de Cuba. Also on the 17th, another shipment with two million hypodermic needles. On Wednesday, November 19th, a shipment of photovoltaic materials, construction supplies, and school equipment will be prepared for Santiago de Cuba.
The contributions from Medicuba Spain and Sodepaz join the State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba’s campaign to provide aid following Hurricane Melissa’s passage through the Caribbean nation.
To this end, it was noted, several accounts have been opened, all with the objective of supporting the humanitarian effort. “For a people who are also suffering from the genocidal policy of economic blockade imposed by the United States government.”
