Millionaire participation in Cuba Support Campaign in Vietnam

More than one million 730 thousand contributions for an amount exceeding 13 million dollars received until Tuesday the National Campa on Support for Cuba. Launched in Hanoi by the Red Cross of Vietnam.

According to the institution, until 11:00 (local time) today 341.1 billion dongs (about 13 million 120 thousand dollars) were collected. Figure five times higher than the goal initially set at 65 billion VND.

Among the most recent donations received by the humanitarian social organization is the day before the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital. One of the five works donated by the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, during his visit to this Indochina nation in 1973.

The hospital, inaugurated in 1981 in Dong Hoy, former province of Quang Binh, was at the time one of the most modern in Vietnam. As former Vice Chancellor Nguyen Dinh Bin recalled in an article. He would be destined to “cure the South soldiers and the populations in the areas that suffered the heying war”.

Also the Vietnamese news agency (VNA) called its officials, reporters, editors and other personnel to join the “65 years of Vietnam-Cuba solidarity”. Launched by the Red Cross as part of the commemorative activities by the sixty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

When referring to the special links between the two countries, the general director of the VNA, Vu Viet Trang, stressed that “this alliance has become an exemplary symbol of international solidarity, which has resisted the passage of time and difficulties.”

The well -known statement by leader Fidel Castro: “! By Vietnam, Cuba is willing to give until her own blood!” Encarna this unwavering loyalty, deeply rooted in the heart of the Vietnamese people, he said.

Viet Trang recalled that the VNA maintains a narrow and lasting relationship with two news agencies of the island: the Latin American Latin American Information Agency and the Cuban News Agency (ACN in the Spanish acronym).

The general director also urged all the units of the VNA to widely spread the “Vietnam-Cuba: always united in difficult times-solidarity in the face of difficulties”, and “Vietnam is still there.”

Starting last Wednesday on the occasion of the 99th birthday of the commander in Chief Fidel Castro and in the context of the year of Vietnam-Cuba friendship and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The campaign to support the archipelago will extend until next October 16th.
