They recognize federated on the 65th anniversary of the FMC

Within the framework of the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Women Federation (FMC). Holguineras women whose effort, dedication and love have left an indelible mark on society. Reaffirming their status as women in revolution were recognized.

The ceremony, chaired by Elizabeth Martínez Quintero, general secretary of the FMC in the province. Congregated leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Government, mass organizations and a representation of affiliates with remarkable professional performance.

As part of the celebration, the National Secretariat confirmed the 65th anniversary commemorative seal with a crucial work in the community and in various sectors.

The tribute included officials with five, 10, 15 and 20 years of uninterrupted service. Among which Soiret Rodríguez, general secretary of the municipality of Mayari, and Madelaine Parra Alfonso, who worked in Rafael Freyre for more than 22 years.

The evening was also conducive to highlighting the work of 23 federated through the distinction August 23rd. On the other hand, the Provincial Delegation of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the peoples imposed the “Peace, Friendship and Solidarity” awards in recognition of the links maintained in the solidarity work for more than six decades.

In his final speech, Yunia Salas Almarales, a member of the Provincial Secretariat, stressed that behind each advance there are stories of female courage and summoned to continue celebrating their voices:

“His tireless work has contributed to strengthening the unity of Holguineras women. Creating a space for meeting, support and solidarity. Promoting their integral development and empowerment, and fighting against all forms of discrimination and violence.

“That this new anniversary ratify our commitment to continue working tirelessly for a more just, equitable and supportive society,” he concluded.

Throughout these 65 years, the FMC has been a lighthouse and guide for emancipation, empowerment and active participation of women in the building of society. Erecting as a fundamental pillar and promoter of equality and social justice.
