School uniforms distributed in Holguin

The distribution of school uniforms for priority grades in General Education. Such as preschool and fifth grade, is a fundamental objective in the province of Holguin. Contemplated in the provisions for the 2025-2026 academic year.

So far, sales are taking place in 145 retail units in nine municipalities across Holguin. Including those within the Plan Turquino district, as well as the provincial capital. Omer González Velázquez, director of the Business Commerce Group, explained to CNA.

In the current first stage, priority is also given to seventh grade. For which a top and bottom set are sold. This brings the process to more than 30 percent complete, with a total of over 11,000 uniforms sold.

New students from each level of education and continuing levels will be gradually incorporated. As the raw materials arrive for the industrialization of the quantity of garments they demand.

All of the clothing manufactured by the Yamarex Clothing Base Business Unit and from the previous school year’s inventory is produced in the province, said Alexis Hernández Pérez, methodologist at the General Directorate of Education.

González Velázquez added that, due to the low availability of clothing fabrics, distribution to the municipalities of Gibara, Rafael Freyre, Banes, Baguanos, and Cacocum is pending. Under the responsibility of the Universal Services and Marketing Company.

The 2025-2026 school year, with a 43-week duration, will begin in September throughout the country and in the province of Holguin. In the more than 1,300 institutions it has, including primary schools, secondary schools, and daycare centers.
