“Uxa Wants to Grow Up”: at the Holguin Art Center

The Holguin Provincial Center for the Visual Arts invites Holguin families to the presentation of the children’s book “Uxa Wants to Grow Up.” Illustrated by visual artist and curator Bertha Beltrán Ordoñez.

At the space, they will be able to enjoy a performance by actress and Radio Angulo host Dayana Agüero. Featuring a special character from the book that they promise everyone will adore.

An exhibition featuring the book’s original drawings that transport them to its magical story will also be open to the public. Accompanied by the artistic talent of Holguin singer Edelita Cabreja.

The book, by Spanish writer Marusha Carracedo Fernández, tells the story of Uxa. A girl who dreams of growing up because she wants to experience fun and unusual adventures. Such as traveling in a kangaroo’s pouch. This book supports children’s autonomy so they can unleash their imaginations and encourages young readers to foster creativity and continue dreaming, even if they seem impossible.

If you don’t want to miss this literary adventure, visit the Temporary Room of the Holguin Provincial Center for the Visual Arts this Thursday, August 7th, at 9:30 a.m. local time. This activity is part of the extensive program that the Art Center has created for this summer with the little ones in mind.
