From July 18th to 19th, Holguin will host the 3rd ConcienciArte Social Sciences and Arts Symposium. Dedicated this time to the 40th anniversary of the Provincial Center for Cultural Development (CPSC).
In a press conference, Rosa Milagros Estévez Villafruela, director of the CPSC and member of the event’s Academic Committee. Announced the holding of a pre-event on Thursday, July 17th. Which will focus on critique and debate about art as a means of livelihood.
In this 3rd edition, the event, available in person and online. Features approximately 40 research projects, with notable participation from university students and professors. As well as international authors from countries such as Mexico, Spain, and South Africa.
The ConcienciArte 2025 program includes panels dedicated to the nation’s identity and the role of women in religion. Also as well as spaces such as the solo exhibition “My Other Profile” by Onelio Escalona and the presentation of the book “Our Cuba. Contextualizing a Vibrant History,” the result of a collaboration with the Chair of Canadian Studies.
Sponsored by the Provincial Center for Cultural Development, in collaboration with the Provincial Directorate of Culture and the university press Conciencia Ediciones. The event has been held since its founding in 2023 with the aim of sharing research by professionals in culture, the arts, and social sciences.
