Cuba Condemns Israeli Bombings of Lebanon and Yemen

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez today condemned the Israeli bombings of Lebanon and vital ports and infrastructure in Yemen.

Through the social media platform X, he stated that these “attacks are part of the aggressive policy to reshape the Middle East” and that they jeopardize progress toward regional peace.

These combative actions constitute a clear violation of the Lebanese ceasefire agreement. Which has demanded the Israeli withdrawal from its natural territory.

In his message, Rodríguez Parrilla denounced the attacks on the ports of Hodeida, Ras Isa, and Salif. As well as the Ras Kanatib power plant, all vital infrastructure in Yemen.

Late Sunday, local media confirmed an attack by an Israeli helicopter against the town of Maroun al-Ras, in the Bint Jbeil district (south), and another with machine gun fire from its newly established position in Tallet al-Hamams, toward the Marjayoun plain (southeast).

The Israeli army also targeted the municipalities of Bodai and Flaoui, both located in the Baalbek governorate, in eastern Lebanon. Also as well as the vicinity of Nabi Chit, near the Syrian-Lebanese border.

The agreement reached on October 7th, 2023, stipulated that both Israel and Hezbollah would withdraw their troops from southern Lebanon. However, the Israeli army has maintained five posts in its neighboring country.
