The voice of renowned Cuban singer-songwriter Raúl Paz resonated in the Plaza de la Marqueta in the city of Holguin, during the Romerías de Mayo. A festival attended by more than 200 national and international delegates.
“It’s always a pleasure to come to Romerías. The Holguin audience is very warm and open to a lot of culture,” the artist told the Cuban News Agency.
Hundreds of people attended the meeting with the Pinar del Río native. Who had them sing along to well-known songs from his repertoire and others from a new album.
Paz shared the stage with Holguin-born playwright and actor Yasser Vázquez, and together they performed Tú y yo, one of the Cuban musician’s best-known compositions.
“Raúl Paz and this song have left a deep mark on me. This isn’t the first time we’ve come together. We’ve done so frequently in different places where we’ve met, and it’s a pleasure for me to be by his side because he’s inspired me throughout my life,” said Velázquez.
This, one of the most anticipated concerts for the pilgrims, is part of an extensive program of performances by national and international artists that has been part of the cultural event from the 2nd to the 8th of this month.
Following the tradition of musical performances at Romerías de Mayo. The closing ceremony will take place in the Plaza de la Revolución Calixto García Íñiguez with the renowned group Los Van Van.
