The exercise of internationalism in sectors of great social relevance such as health and education has been one of the fundamental principles of the Cuban Revolution since its beginnings, always promoted by our Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.
This is confirmed by the thousands of Cuban collaborators who have gone to other nations of the world in solidarity with their peoples. At present, and in spite of the convulsive international situation, this precept remains in force.
This is evidenced by the fact that five educators from the municipality of Calixto García, the westernmost of the province of Holguín, in eastern Cuba, have been summoned to carry out an internationalist mission in the brother country of Equatorial Guinea, a nation that demands the improvement of its educational system and relies on the experience and methodology of Cuban educators.
They are five Calixteños who will leave soon for an internationalist mission, away from their families and friends, but they will do it with the conviction of lending their altruistic contribution, getting to know a new culture and different teaching methods.
They are Aimí Domínguez Matos, Master in Science and Bachelor in Biology, Martha Boffil Peña, Master in Science and Bachelor in Biology, Juan Miguel Reyes Sardiñas, Master in Science and Bachelor in Chemistry, Yunier Reyes Tejeda, Master in Science and Bachelor in Mathematics and Alexis Rodríguez Muñoz, Bachelor in Physics.
All of them, undisputed chairs in their respective disciplines, have been recognized in various municipal and provincial events and have led many teaching processes in local educational institutions, as evidenced by the results obtained. In all of them we expect a worthy representation of the Cuban education system and we wish them success in the fulfillment of their mission.
