The Provincial Summer Commission in Holguin announced that the summer stage will officially open on Saturday, June 29, with headquarters in the municipality of Banes, however, activities will be developed throughout this northeastern territory with the participation of the movement of amateur artists, professional artists of music, performing arts and visual arts.
The Culture sector will make available to the public 13 movie theaters, two video theaters, five video libraries and nine video clubs; on the other hand, 14 public libraries and 15 library houses will be open, 14 of them in the Turquino Plan and one in the Popular Council of San Andrés, in the municipality of Holguín.
There will also be 29 cultural houses, 25 museums, the Provincial Center of Plastic Arts and 11 municipal galleries, the “Eddy Suñol” Theater Cultural Complex and three theaters, 21 bookstores, 12 ARTEX cultural centers and the EGREM, among other spaces.

During July and August, 23 community actions will take place, within a program that also includes a great concert by singer-songwriter Lidis Lamorú, at the Cine Martí, on June 29. On the same day, the Calixto García Park will host a meeting of ruedas de casino dance.
Several cultural events coincide with the summer calendar, including the electronic music event “Aquafest” (July 5 to 8), sponsored by the Provincial Enterprise of Music and Entertainment; the Electronic Music Festival “Stereo G”, of the Saíz Brothers Association, in Caletones Beach (August 1 to 5) and the International Film Festival of Gibara (August 6 to 10).
In a special way, the little ones will celebrate Children’s Day on Sunday, July 21, with the presentation of clowns, magicians, jugglers in parks and squares of all municipalities. A similar celebration will take place on Monday, August 12, International Youth Day.
The exponents of our culture will also reach the communities in transformation and the most remote places of this province. Thus, the AHS Rebel Art Brigade will reach, this year, Pinares de Mayari, from July 25 to 27, while the Cultural Climbing will tour the municipalities of Holguin’s Turquino Plan, from August 1 to 5.
On August 30 and 31, urban dance competitions will be held and, to bid farewell to the summer, a concert by the popular group La QuímiK will be held.
