The test launch and landing of the Amur-SPG reusable space rocket are scheduled for 2028. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov told reporters on Saturday.

“Last year, the technical specifications for the Amur-SPG medium-class rocket and for the prototype of its reusable first stage were approved.” “The launch and landing of the experimental prototype are scheduled for 2028.” The high-ranking official stated at the Russian Space Forum at the National Space Center in Moscow.

Also Manturov added that this is a very important step toward a new generation of domestically produced launch systems based on reusable technologies. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the main goal of the Russian space industry is to ensure its technological sovereignty.

“Russia is firmly committed to ensuring the technological sovereignty of the space industry. This is our fundamental priority,” he declared. Adding that the country is open to mutually beneficial partnerships.

In addition to the rocket, Manturov noted that the Russian orbital station project is entering its active phase.

“To ensure a continuous presence in space, the Russian orbital station project is entering its active phase. The decision to maintain the orbit at an altitude of 56.1 degrees will allow us to utilize the existing infrastructure in the Russian segment of the International Space Station. Which will be modernized and docked with new modules,” he explained.

Moreover he also emphasized the deployment of the Russian space station is also scheduled to begin in 2028.
