Installation of Photovoltaic Systems Progresses in Health Institutions

Given current energy limitations and to ensure the continuity of healthcare services in the province of Holguin. With the installation of photovoltaic systems is progressing in key medical centers. According to a publication by Trabajadores newspaper.

It specifies that the province’s six maternity homes and eight nursing homes have also been included in the program. Medical clinics with extended hours located in hard-to-reach areas will also be prioritized. As well as municipal intensive care units in Gibara, Cacocum, Cueto, Rafael Freyre, Antilla, Baguanos, and Frank País.

Trabajadores also reports that the province has secured 10 portable 5 kW power stations. Which have already been installed in centers such as the Ambulance Base, the Psychopedagogical Medical Center. The Psychiatric Hospital, and other vital locations.

In the most critical aspect of the program, 20 patients with medical conditions requiring continuous power backup in their homes. They have received 1.2 kW systems. Primarily children and individuals who need to maintain mechanical ventilation and other life-saving devices.

The program, a joint effort between the Ministries of Public Health and Energy and Mines, will progress gradually depending on the fuel situation. As many of the sites to be benefited are located in areas with difficult access.
