Holguin Boosts Production from Scraps

The Holguin Advertising and Events Basic Business Unit (UEB) is boosting the use of surplus resources. In its services to clients and generating added value in its workshops.

Madelaine Pupo Domínguez, the unit’s deputy production director, told the Cuban News Agency that this initiative promotes the recycling of raw materials available in the workshops. Which are used to make simple, commercially valuable goods for retail outlets.

Among the items sold from scraps are agendas, calendars, greeting cards, and other items. As well as everyday merchandise such as sweaters, caps, keychains, cell phone cases, trophies, and bags, all guaranteed by the company.

She noted that they have four sales points distributed throughout the city. Also where they sell souvenirs for commemorative dates such as Women’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Valentine’s Day. As well as other items supplied by the national company. Payment options include cash and digital platforms.

Pupo Domínguez emphasized that this business alternative guarantees the utilization of surplus resources in the workshops, giving them a new purpose. This activity generates additional income and complements the UEB’s main service.

The entity increases revenue through custom-made products for its clients. The diverse range of products extends from simple decorative pieces to the complete branding of campaigns. Utilizing their own design, lighting, marketing, and audio/sound workshops, the director explained.

Founded on February 24th, 1966, Advertising and Events of Holguin serves approximately 700 clients from diverse economic and social sectors. Including non-state management entities and individuals. Their orders vary depending on the raw materials available at the facility.
