Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi asserted today that US President Donald Trump’s so-called “Plan A” for a swift military victory has failed. He warned that any “Plan B” will meet with the same outcome.
In a message posted on the X platform, Araghchi directly addressed the US president and questioned Washington’s strategy toward Tehran.
“Mr. President, Plan A, designed to achieve a swift and clean military victory, has failed. Your Plan B will be an even greater failure,” the Iranian foreign minister stated.
The foreign minister added that the “America First” policy. A slogan promoted by Trump, thwarted the possibility of reaching a historic agreement by hindering the progress previously made in negotiations.
Araghchi did not specify what measures he was referring to with the so-called Plan B. Although later, in statements to NBC, he affirmed that Iran is prepared for the eventuality of a US ground invasion. “We are waiting for them. We are confident in our ability to confront them, and it would be a major disaster for them,” the minister stated. Reiterating that Tehran rejects any negotiations with Washington under the current circumstances.
The statements come after Trump indicated that he does not rule out sending US ground troops to Iran “if necessary.”
Since February 28th, the United States and Israel have been conducting military attacks against Iranian territory. Which have resulted in hundreds of casualties, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several security officials.
In response, Tehran has launched missiles and drones against targets in Israel and against US interests in several Arab countries. Actions that have also caused deaths, injuries, and damage to civilian infrastructure, including ports and residential buildings.
