The provincial ceremony for Commerce, Gastronomy, and Services Day held at warehouse 627 of the Provincial Wholesale Food Company (EMPA) in the city of Holguin.
Workers paid tribute to Fernando Chenard Piña, a martyr of the sector. They celebrated the centenary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, and the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of Domestic Trade.
Outstanding workers and officials in the sector recognized by political and mass organizations.
Moreover the Fernando Chenard Piña medals were awarded for more than 25 years of service in the commercial sector. As well as for the significant contributions and sense of belonging of its employees.
Some awards were present to outstanding workers, Basic Business Units (UEBs), and union sections. Including: the Marieta Guayabero UEB, the Constelaciones UEB, Restaurant 1545, the Industrial Market UEB, and UEBs 4 and 7 of the Holguin Municipal Trade Company.
Also recognized were the state-run MSME La Cocina Gigante (The Big Kitchen), the Provincial Directorate of Commerce, the Real Estate Management Company, Estudio Praga (a new economic player). Also the Trade Business Group, and the Institutional Communications Officer of the Trade Business Group, among others.
The director of the Wholesale Food Products and Other Consumer Goods Company (EMPA), Fredy Rodríguez, concluded the event with a summary of the results achieved. Which made hosting the event this year possible.
Yoel Queipo Ruiz, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in Holguin Province was present. Edenis Olivera Maceo, Coordinator of the Provincial Government. Arianis Leyva Figueredo, General Secretary of the Trade Union. With other guests from the political and governmental institutions of the capital city.
