Cuba today paid a heartfelt tribute to the 32 Cubans who died on January 3rd during the US military aggression against Venezuela. Following the arrival of their remains in the homeland.
In the lobby of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR), the 32 coffins, draped with Cuban flags and bearing photographs identifying the remains. Received the tribute of the people who, in silence, came with visible expressions of grief.
Three wreaths of white flowers were laid in the MINFAR lobby. On behalf of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution. The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. And the Ministers of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior.
Floral tributes were added by the families of the fallen and the Cuban people. Along with white roses sent by the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior. As a collective expression of respect and mourning.
By 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, more than 40,900 Cubans had paid homage to the fallen combatants. A people who have lived for 67 years under U.S. imperialism and know terror, pressure, blackmail, and threats weep.
Moreover the day before, a group of Cuban combatants wounded in the same attack arrived in Havana. Accompanied by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez. Authorities reiterated that the 32 deceased, aged between 26 and 60, died in defense of Venezuelan sovereignty and internationalist solidarity.
Tomorrow, Friday, the people will pay tribute at the Anti-Imperialist Tribune and in all provinces. Before the burial in the Pantheon of the Fallen in Defense.
