If one could paint a picture of the qualities and merits possessed by Lupe Isabel Fernández Ramírez. A Holguin native and delegate of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) in Holguin. It would be a truly remarkable work. Given her inspiring example of willpower, commitment, dedication, and fraternity.

Her characteristic simplicity stems from her rural roots. Forged by her deep appreciation for the Revolution in which she was born. Grew as a human being, and which offered her opportunities to improve herself and contribute her knowledge.

Lupe has ample reason to celebrate the anniversaries of the Revolution (67) and ICAP (65). As well as the 40th anniversary of her graduation with a degree in Political Economy from Almaty State University in Kazakhstan. Then part of the Soviet Union (USSR). Her studies were preceded by a preparatory Russian language course in Havana. Upon her return from the USSR, she worked as a professor specializing in Marxism at the provincial school of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in the city of Holguin. She taught Marxism at other general education institutions.

From 1996 onward, she held various positions in the municipal and provincial committees of the PCC in Holguin. Served as deputy director of the personnel department of the Provincial Assembly of People’s Power, to which she was a delegate.

Due to her extensive experience, Lupe Isabel was entrusted in 2013 with leading the provincial delegation of ICAP. In where she has maintained the cohesion of her small team. Fostered excellent relationships with local organizations and institutions. Achieved a significant increase in the number of friends within the international solidarity movement.

Among the activities that have distinguished the province under Lupe’s leadership. As delegate of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples over the past decade were the Colloquia for the freedom of the Five Cuban Heroes. Who remained in U.S. prisons for almost 17 years, as well as active participation in the May Pilgrimages. The Ibero-American Culture Festivals, and the May Day parades. The actions of the Juan Rius Rivera, Ernesto Che Guevara, and Calixto García brigades are also recognized.

The appreciation and admiration of those who know Lupe is also due to her close ties with the Party, the Government, mass organizations, military institutions, and the Education, Health, and Culture sectors.

A tireless worker, loving mother, and loyal companion, this quintessentially Cuban woman began her education in a small rural school in her hometown of Arroyo Blanco, in the Holguin municipality of Cacocum. She remembers these stages of her life with great affection.

Moreover the Holguin delegate to ICAP, who participated in a solidarity event held in Nicaragua in 2015. She has consistently improved herself, earning a master’s degree in Economic and Political Culture. So as well as completing various courses related to the methodology for teaching Marxism, defense, and other topics that have brought her closer to Fidel Castro’s ideology.

In addition to the well-deserved political and social recognition for her outstanding achievements. Lupe signed the “Lucías of Today” book of honor—established by the FMC of Holguin in 1997. Also she collects the signatures of members with distinguished careers—and holds the Enrique Hart Dávalos medal. Distinctions for being an exemplary educator, for 5, 10, and 15 years of service in the PCC. With other recognitions for her work as a delegate to the People’s Power Assembly and member of that governing body, as well as of mass organizations.

On this day commemorating the centennial of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, leader of the Cuban Revolution and founder of ICAP. The Holguin delegation will hold its annual review on January 14th. Following its participation in a central event in solidarity with Venezuela.
