Holguin Celebrates its 43rd Culture Week

The 43rd Holguin Culture Week officially began Monday afternoon with the traditional parade and opening gala. Celebrating this year’s 274th anniversary of Holguin being granted the title of City and Government District.

Under the artistic direction of Carlos López, soloists and choir members from the Rodrigo Prats Lyric Theater, the groups Bella Voce, Golden Voices, Trío Extasis, Crazy Rappers, and Feeling Voices. As well as soloists Marien Hernández, Gladys María and Yhamila Rodríguez. Daniel Alseri, and Dianelis Torres, joined forces on stage.

Moreover this Culture Week is dedicated to historian Mayra San Miguel, writer Dr. José Rafael Rojas Bez, and promoter Ricardo Ronda Chacón. Also who were recognized during the gala for their outstanding contributions to Holguin’s culture.

The activities, which will run until January 18th, also pay tribute to the 40th anniversary of the City Awards and Ediciones Holguin, With the 50th anniversary of the Cuban News Agency (CNA) bureau in the province.

Finally the program of activities, taking place this week. It includes workshops, talks, exhibitions, and concerts featuring the city’s cultural institutions and artists. So who will also come together on the evening of January 17th for the grand concert celebrating. As every year, the granting of the City Title and the establishment of the local government.
