The Dutch foundation Stichting Cuba Adelante, in collaboration with other institutions in the European country, contributes to the well-being of children in Holguin. With special educational needs through donations that enhance their educational process and vocational training.
Juan Manuel Pérez Riverón, a member of the organization, explained to CNA that this organization aims to assist educational institutions, hospitals, and social protection centers. By sending school supplies, medical consumables, furniture, and essential tools annually. Also with an emphasis on special education centers and homes for children without parental care.
Among the schools benefiting are the Jorge Ricardo Masetti and Le Thi Rieng schools. Both in the city of Holguin which received support with the complete replacement of school furniture and the annual distribution of study materials. Including notebooks, pencils, erasers, and pens for teachers, as well as various teaching resources.
As part of the support for vocational training, included in the curriculum of these centers, tools and raw materials have been provided to multipurpose workshops in carpentry, shoemaking and crafts. With the aim of training students and facilitating their future social integration.
This assistance also extends to the Amistad Cuba-Holanda semi-boarding school in Moa. Which received modern cooking equipment, complete dining room furniture, and various sporting godos. Thanks to the collaboration of the Dutch company Womy Equipment Rental.
Pérez Riverón added that, ten years after its creation, Stichting Cuba Adelante arranged the shipment of eight containers with the logistical support of the shipping company Nirint Shipping. Also which transports the donations free of charge.
The donations also include medical supplies, computer equipment, and recycled clothing. Destined for the five homes for children without family support in the province and other entities such as the Lucía Íñiguez Clinical Surgical Hospital and the César Fornet Fruto Polyclinic in Banes.
Founded in 2015 by the Dutch couple Mieke and Gerard Rutjens, Stichting Cuba Adelante promotes healthcare and well-being in Holguin homes. Also providing food assistance to vulnerable families in the northeastern province.
