The Plaza de la Marqueta local development project in the city of Holguin reaffirmed its commitment to the community during the Christmas season. Bringing joy to the youngest residents and extending its community impact.
As part of a long-standing tradition, the project organized a broad solidarity effort. Among its employees and local businesses to provide a Christmas dinner for the children of the four children’s homes in the area. The activity was carried out in coordination with the Education sector and the directors of these centers.
The children, along with educators and family members, enjoyed a special dinner in the Plaza’s main hall. The initiative was sponsored by the project itself and supported by the active participation of all associated businesses and establishments. Also who dedicated their time and effort to ensure a moment of gratitude, complete with cultural touches and surprises.
Futhermore the cultural program was led by the El Guiñol theater group. So who added their artistic flair to make the gathering even more magical. The solidarity of Plaza de la Marqueta didn’t stop there. The project also prepared a dinner for the nursing home in the main municipality. In a joint effort with the Octavio de la Concepción y la Pedraja Pediatric Hospital, will bring gifts and a cultural presentation to the children in the Oncology Ward. With the participation of all its economic stakeholders, both private and state-owned.
Lizandra Lafuente González, the project director, explained that these actions are part of Plaza de la Marqueta’s regular work system. “We are fulfilling our policy of social impact and community engagement. Reaffirming the principle that this is a project with and for the community. In accordance with the humanism that characterizes Cuban society,” she noted.
