Cubs and Tigers to face off starting this Tuesday

The National Baseball Commission announced a second round to make up postponed games of the 64th National Series. Which will begin this Tuesday, the 23rd, and run through Thursday 25th, always starting at 11:00 a.m.

During those three days, the Holguin Cubs, who with a record of 43-28 have already secured their place in the postseason, will face the Ciego de Avila Tigers. Also who with a record of 27-38 still have a slim mathematical chance of making the playoffs.

On Thursday 25th, in addition to the Cubs and Tigers, the Hurricanes and Roosters. As well as the Lumberjacks and Indians, will play their third consecutive games.

Currently, the standings show Las Tunas (46-24) in first place. Followed by Matanzas (45-27, 2.0 behind); and Holguin (43-28, 3.5 behind). Mayabeque (42-30, 5.0 points behind). Industriales (40-30, 6.0 points behind). Sancti Spiritus (41-31, 6.0 points behind). Artemisa (40-32, 7.0 points behind); and Cienfuegos (37-33, 9.0 points behind).

Still mathematically in contention are Pinar del Rio (36-33, 9.5 points behind). Santiago de Cuba (34-37, 12.5 points behind). Villa Clara (28-33, 13.5 points behind); and Ciego de Avila (27-38, 16.5 points behind).

By the way, Holguin traveled with 27 players to Ciego de Avila. They are:

Catchers: Nelson Batista, Carlos Barrabí, Jolber Naranjo, and Christian Arévalo.

Infielders: Michael Gorguet, Adriel Hechavarría, Luis Raúl Domínguez. Lázaro Cedeño, Richard Oliva, Marcos Fonseca Jr., and Luis Lawrence.

Outfielders: Edward Magaña, Jorlis Bravo Jr., Christian Onofre. Luis Miguel Santiesteban, Arley Poll, Andrys Agüero, and Yulián Concepción.

Pitchers: Carlos Alberto Santiesteban, Michel Cabrera, José Miguel Rodríguez. Yusmel Velázquez, Ramiro Rodríguez, Jesús Quintán, Frank Navarro, Andriuw Valido, and Orleidis Cuba.
