Holguin Celebrates Culture Workers’ Day

Holguin celebrated Culture Workers’ Day with an extensive program of activities. That took place in the main streets, public spaces, and cultural institutions of the city.

The House of Culture held activities showcasing its work, with presentations of singing, poetry, and dance. While the Alex Urquiola Provincial Library presented a bibliographic exhibition of its reading romos. Featuring the storytelling company Palabras al Viento and the Guiñol Theater.

Similarly, in the lobby of the Cine Martí, the public enjoyed audiovisual promotion and appreciation activities. Also at the Provincial Center for Visual Arts, caricatures were drawn by artist Roger García and students from the El Alba Regional Academy.

Meanwhile, the José Martí Instructors Brigade surprised everyone with a variety show on the boulevard between Arias and Aguilera streets. Where the youngest participants demonstrated what they had learned from the brigade’s teachers. Who also played an important role in the activity.

The Orígenes Mural, in Julio Grave de Peralta Park, witnessed the presentation of projects from the various art schools. Featuring performances by soloists, contemporary dancers, and Cuban musicians. As well as performances, body painting, caricatures, and prints.

As part of the Cultural Portal organized by the Provincial Directorate of Culture, good music filled Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Park. Known to Holguin residents as San José Park, thanks to the presence of the century-old Avilés Orchestra.
