The Electronic Technology Production and Export Corporation (Copextel) in Holguin is selling solar energy kits to workers in state-funded sectors. With the aim of contributing to electricity savings and gradually advancing the transformation of the province’s energy matrix.

As part of a national plan to incentivize personnel from the Ministries of Education, Higher Education, and Public Health. The sale of 1,031 systems with capacities of 800 and 1,200 watts has begun in the province. Pavel Gallardo Herrera, the company’s commercial manager, told the Cuban News Agency.
The territorial allocation of these systems was handled by the representative entities of each sector. According to the quantities granted, benefiting workers throughout the province and including nine Heroes of Labor in recognition of their merits.
Each kit consists of a solar panel, an inverter-battery device, and the basic screws used for mounting it to panels or lightweight roofing. Because they are subsidized, these kits are priced below the actual market value and can be purchased via QR code, cash, or bank loan, he explained.

Also the sales process takes place at the Copextel Branch. Where beneficiaries must present their national identity card to verify their inclusion in the database and receive a retrieval order from the warehouse along with a warranty certificate.
Each agency has a coordinator who oversees the monitoring of incoming and outgoing loans, sales, and follow-up on outstanding balances.
Gallardo Herrera added that distribution in the northeastern region is progressing with the delivery of more than 550 modules. A process also underway gradually in Guantanamo and Santiago de Cuba, provinces prioritized after the damage caused by Hurricane Melissa.
The program is organized by region, depending on the arrival of the equipment, and will be progressively extended to Granma, Las Tunas, Camagüey, and Pinar del Rio.
The Copextel subsidiary in Holguin is working on online and in-store sales. Expanding its business channels through contracts with suppliers. They are offering slow-moving goods, electronic equipment, and office supplies to individuals, self-employed workers, and new business models.
