Urbano Noris Welcomes New Generation of Doctors

The municipality of Urbano Noris in Holguin province welcomed a group of newly graduated doctors who will immediately join the Primary Health Care system. To strengthen healthcare coverage, especially in rural communities where the presence of specialists is more limited.

The addition of these professionals will alleviate the existing workload and contribute to filling the workforce in hard-to-reach areas. Thus ensuring more equitable and timely medical care for the entire population. According to a post on the Facebook page of the local community radio station.

Government authorities in the area urged the new doctors to practice with excellence and merit. Comparing their role to that of the professionals who faced COVID-19 and encouraging them to be the young vanguard in these times.

Dr. Amanda Piñeiro Vázquez, one of the graduates, expressed the collective commitment: “For us, it is a commitment to provide quality medical care to every member of the community.” Reflecting the ethical and human responsibility they assume.

In a complex health scenario due to the current high circulation of arboviruses, the arrival of these professionals strengthens the municipality’s capacity. Also to maintain surveillance, prevention, and frontline medical care. Complementing the ongoing work of the healthcare personnel.
