The Federation of Secondary School Students (FEEM) in Holguin province is holding a series of activities to commemorate the 55th anniversary of its founding. The organization was established by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on December 6th, 1970.
Luis Ángel Osorio Blanco, FEEM’s provincial president, highlighted from Moa, the site of the provincial event. That Holguin boasts a membership of over 25,000 students, “committed and capable of undertaking the great tasks entrusted to them.”
The celebration program includes sports competitions at all educational centers in the municipality. Impactful and productive projects in urban gardens and student centers. A camping trip with a giant anti-imperialist bonfire, and the commemoration of another anniversary of the Granma yacht landing.
Osorio explained that Moa was selected as the headquarters due to its comprehensive results. Its ability to rise to the challenge in the face of adversity, and the cohesive work of its faculty. Along with the municipal offices of Youth, Education, and the Communist Party of Cuba. Which guarantees the optimal development of activities in the region.
Within the framework of this commemoration, the commitment of a student body willing to do anything “in exchange for nothing” is reaffirmed. A principle that reflects the will of an active and generous youth. Dedicated to giving their best for the future of the nation and thus honoring the founding legacy of the organization.
