“Cathedrals of Ants” Returns as a Tribute to Lalita Curbelo

The Holguin Art Gallery announces the “Cathedrals of Ants” 2025 Online Illustrated Poetry Contest. To be held next December, as a tribute to the Holguin writer Lalita Curbelo Barberán.

The genre, techniques, and visual media used for the contest are open, and the themes of the works must be related to poetry. Each author will create a poem of their choosing, which may be included in the artwork or displayed alongside it. These works may be submitted individually or as a group.

Each entry must be accompanied by a technical sheet with the author’s full name. Contact information, title of the work, technique used, and dimensions.

All visual creations for the contest must be sent to the Organizing Committee via WhatsApp at +5359933075. Between December 1st and 20th of this year.

All proposals will be evaluated by a curatorial team who will decide their participation in the competition. Also the awards jury will be composed of specialists and prestigious figures from the visual arts and literature.

Moreover the organizing committee of “Cathedrals of Ants” also announced that a special prize and honorable mentions will be awarded as deemed appropriate by the jury.
