President Miguel Díaz-Canel attends the opening of Fihav 2025

President Miguel Díaz-Canel attended the opening of the 41st Havana International Fair (Fihav 2025) on Monday. Considered the largest trade showcase in Cuba and the Caribbean.

At its usual venue, the Expocuba fairgrounds, from November 24th to 29th, businesspeople and delegations from around the world are attending this event. According to the organizers, is hosting 47 countries and the European Union.

In a press conference prior to Fihav 2025, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment (Mincex). Oscar Pérez-Oliva, confirmed the participation of 16 official delegations from Venezuela, Mexico, Bulgaria, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Czech Republic, Iran, Congo, Zimbabwe, Comoros, Angola, and South Africa.

In addition, the director of the Colón Free Zone in Panama, the executive secretaries of ALBA-TCP and the Latin American Economic System (SELA). Also the general secretary of ALADI will be present, along with representatives from 15 trade and investment promotion agencies.

FIHAV brings new features this year, with five thematic areas: Made in Cuba, The Energy Transition, AI Cuba, Unique Cuba, and the Integration Mechanisms Forum. These will be complemented by the 8th Investment Forum, an updated Portfolio of Opportunities, product presentations, and National Days.

Concurrently, the Caribbean Banking Forum will take place on November 26th and 27th at the Parque Central Hotel. With the aim of strengthening regional financial integration among the countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Fihav 2025 will be held at the Parque Central Hotel. There will also be five business forums with some of the island’s main trading partners: Russia, Vietnam, Iran, Turkey, and Argentina. Information will also be provided on new foreign investment policies aimed at attracting more foreign capital.

For his part, the president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Antonio Carricarte. Confirmed the attendance of some 20 Chambers of Commerce and specified that 240 Cuban companies will participate. Of these, 181 are state-owned and 61 are private micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Referring to the objective of FIHAV, Carricarte explained that it is not limited to exports. But also includes the promotion of joint ventures that will allow for the integration and utilization of the country’s. Also available production capacity to produce goods for both the domestic and export markets.
