Díaz-Canel chaired a meeting on recovery in eastern Cuba

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the National Defense Council, chaired a meeting of that body this Monday at the Palace of the Revolution. To evaluate recovery efforts in the eastern region of the country, which was affected by Hurricane Melissa three weeks ago.

Holguin reached 93.12 percent, Granma 96.19 percent, Santiago de Cuba 60 percent, Guantanamo 99 percent, and Las Tunas 100 percent. All municipal capitals now have electricity.

Bladimir Matos Moya, first vice president of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, reported that the water supply had been almost fully restored in Holguin. Although some issues persisted in Urbano Noris and Mayari. In Granma, recent rains delayed the installation of equipment necessary for the water supply.
