The Vladimir Ilich Lenin General University Hospital received a donation from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Consisting of medical supply kits, disposable materials, medications, infant formula, and mosquito nets.
The donation includes disposable materials such as syringes, needles, gloves, and cannulas. As well as medications such as IV fluids, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and rehydration salts. In addition, approximately eight thousand mosquito nets will be distributed to all hospital units in the province and to Primary Health Care (PHC) centers as quickly as possible.

According to Dr. María del Carmen Noris Mariño, Head of International Relations, Donations, and Projects at the General Directorate of Health (DGS). This donation to the eastern provinces is part of UNICEF’s immediate and timely response to emergency situations. It is primarily aimed at children, pregnant women, and postpartum women. Ensuring they are in safe and protected environments despite adverse situations.
Health authorities in the province expressed their gratitude for this solidarity contribution from UNICEF. Also which undoubtedly helps in facing the recovery phase with a positive impact on the health of the population.

This gesture is appreciated and demonstrates UNICEF’s commitment to the immediate response and early recovery of Holguin and the eastern region of Cuba.
