The Cosmos Hotel Group, Russia’s largest operator, and the Cuban tourism company Gaviota S.A. signed a management agreement for the five-star Sierra Cristal Hotel in the province of Holguin.
The facility has 640 rooms and will operate under the name Sierra Cristal by Cosmos Hotels. It is located 25 kilometers from the city of Antilla and 114 kilometers from Frank PaĆs International Airport.
Alexander Biba, president of Cosmos Hotel Group, stated that this is the first international resort managed by the company. Adding that the expansion strategy includes new hotel and urban projects under management and franchise.
The Sierra Cristal was built in 2024 and joins the network of Gaviota S.A., one of Cuba’s leading tourism groups. The agreement was signed within the framework of the Tourism Territories Forum (FTT-2025). Held on October 15th and 16th at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex in Moscow.
The Cosmos Hotel Group is a subsidiary of the Sistem investment conglomerate and presents itself as the largest hotel chain in Russia. With more than 20 properties in different cities.
Its flagship hotel, the Cosmos Moscow, opened in 1979 for the 1980 Olympic Games. It has 1,777 rooms and capacity for more than 3,000 guests. In addition to a convention center for 2,000 participants.
The chain serves hundreds of thousands of clients each year. Including domestic tourists, foreign visitors, and business travelers. Its goal is to strengthen its leadership in the sector, modernize its facilities, and consolidate Russia as a key tourist destination.
