Local Industries Company Diversifies Production in Holguin

The Holguin Provincial Local Industries Company (AVIL) is diversifying its range of products for the population. With the goal of meeting the material needs of its customers and contributing to the region’s commercial logistics efficiency.

Ismara Fleita Limonta, director of the organization, told the Cuban News Agency that it covers 13 municipalities. It has different production processes in crafts, graphics, chemicals, leather, wood, metal, clothing, paper, and cardboard.

She added that some of its production chains are linked to self-employed workers. Due to the necessary equipment, especially in the plastics sector. Which ensures manufacturing and the level of resources.

The organization offers services in different municipalities through the support of workshop workers to the community. Also textile manufacturing, such as school uniform modifications, and mattress repairs are offered with guarantees for their development, the director explained.

Moreover she emphasized that there are resources aimed at exports. Among which stand out items made with bamboo, one of the most complex techniques in the industry. The creations include sun loungers, furniture, mini bars, and others.

Also she explained that from the initial project, they were designed to work with waste from large companies. Since their acquisition, products with new use value have been created. Which has been affected by the limited availability of raw materials among industries.

AVIL was established in 1997 and has three core business units that promote a variety of utilitarian and decorative items for sale. Both locally and internationally through online sales.
