Reinforcing Martí’s principle that “Blessed is the land where the battles of peace are fought.” Lupe Isabel Fernández Ramírez, Icap delegate in the province of Holguin, concluded a special morning event for World Peace Day. Held at the Friendship with the Peoples educational institution in the province.
The official from that institution, which promotes, develops, and shares actions in favor of friendship and solidarity among peoples. Highlighted the teachings of the unforgettable Fidel Castro Ruz, who contributed so much to the emancipatory battles of the peoples. Whose ideas led to the decision to declare Latin America and the Caribbean a Zone of Peace.
For these reasons, on a date like September 21st, which is World Peace Day, we must remember the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution. Futhermore whose centenary of birth will be marked by a national day of peace that will extend until November 2026.
Fernández Ramírez addressed the Cuban people’s demand for an end to Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Also for the United States government to withdraw its military forces from the coastal areas of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Lupe Isabel also reported on the activities taking place in the province and the country on the day of solidarity with the people of Puerto Rico (September 18-23th). With whom we share historic ties of friendship and solidarity.
This Friday’s special morning program for World Peace Day coincided with the 51st anniversary of the founding of the Friendship with the Peoples school. Inaugurated on September 19th, 1974, as a result of cooperation between Bulgaria and Cuba.
The presentation was preceded by the Icap delegate, Yuliet Rodríguez, with a talk on the values, commitments, and actions that lead to peace among peoples and human beings. For the need to strive for it in order to achieve harmonious and happy coexistence.
The event was enhanced by words and poetry by pioneers. As well as choreography by the Dreams’ Magic cultural project of the María Antonia Bolmey boarding school.
