In what was his second home in the Cuban city of parks, the Press House, where he served as president of the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) for several years. The Holguin community gathered to recall every anecdote, lesson, and countless positive actions they remember from Troya.

Fidel worked for many years until his retirement at the municipal radio station Radio Holguin, as head of the press team and program director. He left an indelible mark with his ease of communication, his economic and historical analysis, and his skill in writing daily articles.
