Maritime and air transportation stable after power outage

All Cuban airports continue to operate with their available alternative electric means to ensure the landings and takeoffs of aircraft from various Airlines. As well as the arrival and departure of passengers, among other services, Cuban Minister of Transportation Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila stated this Wednesday.

Given the widespread disruption to electricity service throughout the country, caused by the National Electric System’s failure this morning. The minister indicated that the National Passenger Trains company reported that its rail service remains active on all scheduled routes, as do national bus departures.

Rodríguez Dávila stated on his Facebook profile that the connection between Nueva Gerona and Batabano will continue as before, using the Perseverancia Ferry. Whose next departure is scheduled for tomorrow, September 11th, at the usual time.

He also confirmed the continuation of unloading operations at the ports of Havana, Vita, Carupano, Santiago de Cuba, and Cienfuegos. Maneuvers that allow for the reception of essential products, including those in the standard family basket.

Moreover he emphasized that the stability of port maneuvers is guaranteed by the companies involved. Such as Navegación Caribe, Prácticos de Cuba, and Consignataria MAMBISA.

The Minister of Transportation expressed his gratitude in advance for their understanding in the event of any unforeseen events and added that, together with his provincial delegations and subordinate entities. Also he remains in constant contact with local authorities and the population to adopt any additional measures as appropriate.
